Alicia stood against the wall by the door, just inside the dining hall, waiting. Her silver and red eyes held a glimmer of slyness to them as she waited, her fingers lightly tapping against the wall against her back. The black haired warrior student knew what she was doing. She almost always knew what she was doing. She had told her best friend, Yuffie, to be at lunch at five after twelve, as normal, but today wasn't a normal day.
Alicia had woken up to find a giant E.T plushy hanging over her head from a thin string. Clearly the doing of Yuffie since Alicia's roommate had stayed at her boyfriend's apartment last night. Yuffie was the master of breaking into rooms, while Alicia took the surprise trophie, most of the time, that is. Sure, the two friends often let their guards down due to their close bond, but not today. Alicia was ready. She was going to get Yuffie back for the traumatic, mental scarring that she had endured earlier in the day. The thought of that horrible little creature thing that so many people loved from the movie ET still made Alicia shiver in the horrror. How horrible he was.
Alicia pulled out her little flip phone and looked at the time. 12:07. About the time that Yuffie typically came into the dining hall. Alicia plastered herself against the wall and listened. When she heard footsteps coming, she knew it had to be Yuffie. It just had to be. So she waited... Waited until the sound was just in the doorway and leapt around the corner quickly. She about grabbed the person, but she quickly recoiled and danced back from the person quickly as she saw the alchemy symbol and saw their hands shooting up in surprise. "DON'T KILL ME! WRONG PERSON!" Alicia yelped as she toppled backwards over her own feet, only to look up at the ROTC General, Roy Mustang. Her eyes were wide with fear as she looked at the man, and he held his hand in a position, ready to snap and create sparks. His dark eyes were locked with her light silver and red ones, daring her to make another mistake.
"What the hell were you trying to do, Metlam?" The man asked. He had run into the Warrior girl many times before, and every time in the past was because she had picked a fight with one of his ROTC students. Or he assumed she picked the fight. From all that he had heard and seen of the girl, it seemed perfectly in character for her to start the fights.
Alicia stood up slowly again, and lowered her head to the General of the SOHT Area General. "I was trying to scare my friend, Sir. I thought you were her. Forgive me," She said smoothly, but with no sincere tone to her voice. Roy Mustang only snorted and waved her off before going on into the dining hall, cursing under his breath about idiotic warrior students.
Alicia watched him go, her heart still lightly fluttering at the panic that had hit her only a few moments before. She was certain that she was charcoal that time. No matter. Now he was gone and she was still alive.

Yuffie knew that something was up. It had all started when the third year had gotten bored and snuck into her best friend's room with a giant ET plushie. Within moments, Yuffie had hung it from the ceiling fan just above Alicia's bed and scooted out of the room again, sliding it silently shut behind her. Yuffie knew that there would be revenge. But it had been fun! And revenge was her favorite part of pranking Alicia. It was fun to see if her best friend's revenge was what Yuffie had guessed.
Lunch was supposed to be at 12:05. So of course, Yuffie was running a little late. She had latched onto someone who was on their way to the Dining Hall and shadowed them. The fact that the person that she was stalking was Colonel Roy Mustang didn't really bother her. It would only make it that much more funny when Alicia thought it was her.
So when Colonel Mustang wandered towards the cafeteria, Yuffie hung back, watching and waiting. Sure enough, it paid off when she heard Alicia's tell tale yelp. Yuffie chanced glancing around the corner and giggled cheerfully at the sight of her friend scurrying away from the Colonel, who looked about ready to fry Ali. Still, Yuffie wasn't too worried about her friend. He couldn't really roast her. He wasn't allowed to.
Smirking to herself, Yuffie wandered away and towards the entrance that the cafeteria workers used. She had used it a lot when she'd wanted nothing more than a midnight snack, so Yuffie knew exactly where it was and how to get there. Normal people might have let Ali get back at them so that everything was fair. But Yuffie wasn't exactly normal. She liked to play tricks on people! And Alicia was the best person of all to prank. They had met early on, when Yuffie had transferred into her first Warrior class as a double major, and now they were all but inseparable.
But a lot of that was the give and take of pranking each other. Alicia wasn't as much of a prankster as Yuffie was, but they both enjoyed causing trouble for teachers and fellow students alike. And in each other, they found a great friend as well as an ally and asset. Alicia was an invaluable friend, for all that Yuffie wasn't willing to let her get her back for that ET stunt. It wasn't her fault that Ali was terrified of the thing, after all!
It was about 12:10 when Yuffie managed to sneak her way up to Alicia, taking full advantage of the crowded tables, trash cans, salad bars and everything else in her pathway to get up to her best friend without the other girl noticing. There was only a few feet of empty space. That could only be solved by running. Of course, Yuffie could handle that. What was the Great Ninja of Wutai, if not a runner? Well, she wasn't really a runner. But doubt didn't even dream of entering Yuffie's mind.
She took a moment to prepare herself, and then Yuffie scurried up to Alicia, who still seemed to be recovering from nearly getting toasted. Yuffie reached up lightly to tap her friend's shoulder and smirked to herself. "Normally, it's not a good idea to sneak up on Colonel Mustang. You nearly got fried! And then who would be my bestest buddy?" Yuffie pouted slightly, but she still looked rather amused. [/blockquote]

Alicia inhaled deeply as she cursed under her breath about the egotistical General. She didn't really hate the man, but she really didn't like him. Not that she really had any reason to. Every time that she had to deal with him was because of some type of punishment or horrible run in like the one that just happened. Maybe if they had started off on a better foot, but that was a thing of the past. Now, Alicia just wanted to graduate so she could say all of the uncensored things that she wanted to, to his face. Sure, she could do it now, but she most certainly would be expelled, and she knew her father wouldn't be thrilled with that.
Finally calmed down, Ali straightened her shirt and stretched her back just as a finger tapped her on the shoulder. Alicia didn't even turn to look at her friend. "Well played, well played," She muttered before Yuffie could even start speaking. When Yuffie did start speaking, she turned to look at the slightly younger girl and only looked at her with an unamused look. "First off. He got promoted, remember? He's General now. Second, I'd like to claw his face. But I think if I did that, I would have to fear the swooning upperclassmen more than him," She said with a snort of amusement as she thought about some of the fourth years that only seemed to swoon and day dream about their young General. Idiots is what they were. Why would they swoon about him? He was an egotistical jerk that just needed to be put back in his place.
.... And these emotions were probably the reason that Alicia never crushed on anyone, let alone had any type of relationship.
Sighing again, Alicia flicked her silver bangs back to the side of her face and put her hands on her hip as she looked at Yuffie for a moment, then shrugged and wandered over to the small, four person table that they usually sat. As she went, she gathered up a small plate of food, not really paying much attention to what she was grabbing, but grabbing thigns all the same, before finally sitting down.
She took a bite out of an apple, still glaring at the General. "I wonder if he would know it was me if I threw this apple or roll at his head..." She muttered as she looked back to Yuffie with a mischevious look in her red and silver eyes.

Yuffie smirked, nodding smugly at Alicia. She was proud of her friend for not even flinching and not glancing towards Yuffie. Ali was learning. Of course, Ali was a bright student in areas such as these. It wasn't taking much prodding from Yuffie for Alicia to become a brilliant trickster, just like herself.
The girl only rolled her eyes when Alicia spoke. "General Schmeneral. No one cares about him! Not with the One True Rose of Wutai around." Winking at her friend, Yuffie bowed slightly before straightening to her full height and growing marginally more serious. That was pretty impressive coming from Yuffie, who was rarely serious. "Mmhmm. He is quite annoying." Like Alicia, Yuffie had no love lost for the General. He was an obnoxious pain in the behind, and he was no fun to prank either. He only really threatened to roast her. Which was boring because he couldn't. Which made him totally useless in Yuffie's book.
On that note, they set off towards their table. Yuffie wandered at her own pace, heaping her plate with food. A salad dominated her plate, with rolls around the edge and three or four cookies stacked precariously on one edge. She tried to avoid her food touching, but unfortunately that was inescapable as Yuffie wandered towards the table carefully, picking up her feet cautiously in an attempt to avoid tripping over any chairs or anything along those lines.
When she reached the table in one piece, Yuffie sighed and relief and flopped into her seat, grabbing one of the rolls and beginning to shred it into pieces, popping bite after bite into her mouth in a rather messy manner, eyeing her friend in an appraising manner. Alicia still looked irritated, but Yuffie was more amused than anything else. It was funny, okay?
Yuffie giggled mischievously at Ali's words. "Probably not. Especially not if I threw my roll at someone else." Smirking, Yuffie's gaze scanned the cafeteria, looking for a suitable target for her roll. She doubted they could start a food fight just like that, but it was definitely worth a try. And if all else failed, they could just blame it on each other. Or own up to it. Or blame it on someone else. There were just way too many options for them to pass up this opportunity. [/blockquote]

Alicia's gaze grew more and more mischevious as Yuffie replied to her. She took another bite of her apple and let her other hand fondle with the roll that was resting on her plate. The general's fat head was just in her sites, with his back to her. How perfect it was. It was a perfect target. Not too far either. Alicia bit her lip in the way that she normally did when she was thinking, or more like plotting. Plotting her next move. Even as she took a few more bites of her apple, she kept the plotting look on her face, glaring at Mustang's head. She was wasting some time first, until more people could flood into the room.
Once the dining hall was almost filled, and people frequently passed behind the General, she stood up with her apple core and roll in her hands. She wiggled her way to just behind one of the large plants that was against the wall, and waited a few more moments as people shuffled past the back of the General. With apple core in her throwing hand, she took aim, her silver-red eyes narrow. The wind up, and she waited another moment as another innocent person wandered past, then she chucked the apple, and then immediatly the roll into another direction. She darted behind the tree and a shelf just as there was a thud of the apple slamming into the back of Mustang's head. She snickered from her hiding place, just as she heard the general stand up. Quite a few people had fell silent, while others were snickering.
Next thing Alicia knew, the plant that was just beside her in her typically perfect hiding place was ablaze. Her eyes went slightly wide as she peeked out at the General. "I will see you-" "In the headmasters office tonight at eight, I know, I know," She waved him off with an eye roll. She then looked back at the burning plant and smiled. Mustang walked out rubbing the back of his head.
Toboe had just entered the dining hall from the back door that led to the garden when a flying, rogue roll smacked him in the face. First of all, it scared the shizz out of him. He jumped about five feet into the air, and his heart about exploded in his chest. Yet, by instinct, he ended up catching the roll as it bounced off of his face. He looked at the bread product, confused, but continued to walk. His light red-brown gaze then locked onto the General as he burned one of the plants, to reviel Alicia. Toboe only rolled his eyes, smiled, and found Yuffie.
"I got hit with a roll," He said softly as he placed the bread on the table and looked at Yuffie with profound confusion. He then looked back at Alicia as she wandered back to the table, grinning with more pride than could be described in words.

They were always on the same page, always waiting until the just the right moment to play their pranks. It was part of why Yuffie liked Alicia much. Generally, Yuffie didn't make very many close friends, but Alicia was a major exception to that rule. And things like this were exactly why. The two girls seemed to know exactly what was going through the mind of the other, and they waited silently for the dining hall to fill a tad more until it would be easier to throw their missiles without being spotted.
When Alicia wandered off, Yuffie knew exactly what to do. She looked around, her gaze flicking this way and that with a roll in her hand. When her gaze settled on her target, Yuffie smirked wickledly, pulled back and launched the roll straight at him. It bounced off of him without harm, but Yuffie was already looking away, pretending not to be involved as she watched Alicia. She probably hadn't been much help in that particular prank, actually.
And Mustang seemed to have caught Ali. Yuffie snorted in amusement at the sight of the bush lighting up on flames, grinning to herself in amusement. Headmaster's office at 8, if she remembered correctly. Mustang wasn't particularly imaginative with his punishments, and Yuffie and Alicia had been in trouble enough times that they knew what to expect when a faculty member got angry. Especially if it was Mustang. That guy wouldn't have known creative genius if it had bitten him in the ass with a neon sign flashing down at it.
When Toboe reached her seat, Yuffie grinned at her friend's confusion, watching as he put her roll on the table. Her hand's snapped out to snatch the roll up. "Thank you! I was wondering where that went!" Yuffie said with a grin, "It's the case of the runaway roll!" She put the roll on the edge of her plate, not touching it to be particularly edible. For all she knew, Toboe had dropped it on the ground.
She did love her friend, but he wasn't the brightest bulb in the pack sometimes. So with a grin, Yuffie grabbed a cookie and took a giant bite of it, taking her time to chew before speaking. "Did you see Ali?" Yuffie questioned proudly, leaning back in her chair with a laugh. She was still giddy with amusement at Alicia's antics. Mustang had been boring, as always. And Toboe was just Toboe. That was all there was to it! [/blockquote]

Toboe let Yuffie take the roll from him, and only watched her for a moment, really hoping that she wasn't going to eat it. He was relived when she put it down again, and looked back at Alicia as the other, slightly older girl sat down at the other side of the table, leaving only him standing. His red-brown eyes looked from one girl, to the other, then to the bush, slightly upset with them, but he didn't tell them that. "What? How she almost got fried by the general, just as she does at least once a week? Yes, I saw," Toboe said with a light, airy tone to his voice as he took one of Yuffie's cookies and took a nice big bite out of it. Only then did he slide his small and dainty frame into a chair between the two trickster girls.
Alicia was still beaming as she too reached over and stole a cookie from Yuffie's plate and licked it before Yuffie could steal it back. She then placed it on her own plate and started to finish the rest of her small meal. "I wanna' know how he figured out my hiding place," Alicia laughed as she spoke, giddy with the rush of pelting the General with an apple. Granted, it was only the core, but next time....yes next time she would have a WHOLE apple to smack him with. It would be brilliant.
Toboe sighed at Alicia and chuckled light heartedly. "Probably thats where you hide when you get into trouble with anyone. Be more original, Ali," He said as he smiled under the glare he was getting from the Warrior girl. Alicia wasn't thrilled with his comment. In fact, it kind of pissed her off. "More original? Lets see you come up with a BRILLIANT idea, Runt," She snapped at him, making him flinch away slightly, his eyes showing a bit of hurt. He didn't like getting yelled at, not one bit. "If you gave me a chance, I would!" He whined back to her, shooking Yuffie a sideways glance, trying to get her to back him up, though he doubted she would. Weren't girls supposed to be sweet and nice compared to the buff, jerky guys? Well, most were, in Toboe's mind, but somehow, he still ended up with the most snappy and hardcore girls he knew. Not that he didn't like them. He absolutely adored them both, but he really was wishing he didn't get snapped at.

Yuffie waved cheerfully at Alicia as her friend settled down at the table, sticking her tongue out at Toboe as he looked at her. Yuffie hadn't gotten this far in life with Toboe to not notice when he was irritated. But honestly, Yuffie wasn't too bothered by it. Toboe wasn't as tricky as she and Alicia were. But Yuffie liked Toboe just the way he was! He was so adorable when he got mad though.
Wrinkling her nose at Toboe when he grabbed one of her cookies, the girl pouted for a moment before answering him. "Maybe if you stopped stealing my cookies, she wouldn't have almost gotten roasted." Okay, so that made no sense, but Yuffie was joking around. She stuck her tongue out at Toboe again. "I was trying to distract him when I threw the roll at you... But it didn't work." Looking unperturbed, Yuffie shrugged. She'd probably be in the headmaster's office with Ali anyways, so it wasn't a big deal.
Hissing at Alicia, Yuffie's hand shot out to grab the cookie, but when Alicia's tongue touched it, she recoiled, screwing up her face comically. "EWWWW." Yuffie whined, "You licked my cookie!" She grabbed a roll from Alicia's plate in retaliation, licking it in turn. "That's what you get!" Yuffie grinned at her friend before taking a big bite of her salad, crunching happily away at it as she listened to Alicia. "'s probably 'cause he got lucky." Yuffie said around her mouthful of food.
When the table exploded, Yuffie sighed irritably. They'd been doing so well, too! It had been a whole day since Ali had snapped on anyone. And Yuffie definitely would have preferred if Ali had started yelling at someone other than Toboe, who was easily upset. "Guyssssss." Yuffie groaned. "Toboe, you only didn't get involved this time because you weren't here yet. You can come with me the next time I'm pranking Ali." She grinned at her friend cheerfully. "And Alicia Metlam, what did I say about yelling at people who are telling you the truth?" Yuffie shot for sounding strict, and failed miserably. She mostly just sounded irritated. "You do usually hide there. And Mustang's caught you there more than once." Yuffie wasn't about to pick sides in a fight between her friends.
She'd learned her lesson about that a long while ago. When they settled their issues, they would still remember she'd picked sides and then it would all be on her and both of her best friends would be mad at her. Instead, Yuffie tried to distract them. "Now. Who wants to go to the store with me and get some more ET stuff?" Grinning cheerfully at Alicia, Yuffie stuck her tongue out for the third time in a matter of minutes at her friend. Alicia glared at Toboe still as she munched on her food, yet Toboe adverted his gaze from the more dominant girl and looked at the cookie in his hand that he had taken a bite out of. He was slightly nervous as he felt the silver gaze burning into his very soul. He didn't like getting the death glare. It made him feel like he was...well...the runt. Not that he really wasn't. He was certainly the most "omega" acting of the trio, and quite possibly the most insignificant compared to the two girls.
Luckily for Toboe, Yuffie was often the peacekeeper, and today was no different. Alicia's gaze, which was still sharp as daggers, shifted to Yuffie. "Come on now. We all know Mustang isn't smart enough to remember things. The guy is just a dumbass man whore," Alicia ranted for a moment, then took in a deep breath and relaxed as she just watched Yuffie take the roll with a shrug and then proceeded to eat the stolen cookie. "If I find anything else in my room, I will be coming at you with Dreamscar," She growled, her eyes glinting as she mentioned the sword that she loved almost more than her other posessions. Toboe looked at Yuffie, and smiled slightly. "Can we go and get icecream instead?" He asked with bright eyes. He had the theory that icecream fixed everything. How could it not? It was yummy, sweet, and it was something that they could do together that rarely caused any type of arguement to pop up. Even if Alicia was in her worse mood, Ice cream could usually get them all laughing again.
Alicia looked at Toboe, then shrugged. "I don't have anything until eight apparently," She grumbled as she jammed the rest of her cookie into her mouth. She proceeded to look around the dining hall, searching for something. Maybe it was her next target. No one could be sure, except for Alicia.
As if a switch was flipped, Alicia turned and looked at Yuffie with wide and excited eyes. "My dad sent me a letter today," She said excitedly. "Apparently a BUNCH of students from a sister school in europe are being transferred here. So, aparently we are getting like a couple dozen of new students. Know what that means?" Alicia's gaze glimmered again with a slyness that she had perfected.
Toboe groaned. "Don't scare all of them off. Maybe I can actually find a date to the yearly formal this year with new people coming in," Toboe's voice, though slightly serious, also held a light teasing tone to it as he smiled and finished the cookie he had stolen from Yuffie.
