EVEN WHEN I WAS FALLING DOWN
Mostly brown
eye color: Blue
height and weight: 5'3" 130 pounds
distinguishing features: Clawlike scars just above her collarbone, stretching onto her chest
face claim: Tahnee Atkinson - Model
appearance: Melody isn't the most average of people. Though she is of a fairly average height and weight, with a slightly more curvy build. Her hair is perhaps the most obviously interesting thing about her. She wears it long, letting usually straightening it in the mornings. It's mostly brown, but with distinctly blonde highlights and a single, brilliantly blue stripe that Melody keeps dyed religiously. Her eyes are nothing too special compared to her hair. They are simply plain old blue, and aren't particularly strange or outlandish looking. On her chest are three long, thin scars that seem as if they came from claws. They start just above her collarbone and stretch a few inches downwards. The skin is angry and puckered there, and Melody typically dresses conservatively to cover these scars. She doesn't put much thought into her clothing as long as it covers her scars, and her taste in clothing varies widely depending on the season, what's clean and what kind of mood she's in.[/ul][/blockquote]
OUT WHERE YOUR TROUBLES CAN‘T FIND YOU
OUT WHERE YOU LEAVE THEM ALL BEHIND
painting and other artistic things, her brother, making people smile
dislikes: her brother, having attention focused on her
personality: Melody is, generally speaking, a sweetheart. She is typically very kind to those around her. She almost never has a cruel word for anyone around her. Melody's favorite thing to do is compliment others and to make other people smile. There's just something about at least attempting to make the world a happier place that makes Melody happy. She enjoys to do small things for other people, but she usually tries to stay anonymous in her actions to try and make others happy. Melody doesn't really like having the spotlight focused on her, so she tries to avoid attention, for the most part. But she is typically about as sweet as can be.
Of course, there are certainly things that can make Melody angry. The major thing that she dislikes and well and truly irritates her is when people make others upset. Whether they do it accidentally or not, if someone does something that makes someone else upset, it well and truly upsets her. Things that seem as harmless as pranks to things that are as harmful as bullying set Melody off. But usually, Melody doesn't get angry about much. She's typically a sweetheart.
Optimistic to the very end, Melody sees the best in everything and everyone. She sees the silver lining in every storm cloud and every glass as half full. If there's a bump in the road, Melody's always the one who sees the bright side to it. She sees everything as a good thing. There's always something good in a situation. There's a chance to learn in every thing that comes up to mess up a plan or something that she's trying to do. And Melody won't hesitate to share her optimism with the world. If she sees someone upset, she won't hesitate to try and show them that everything will work out. Her motto is 'Everything will work out in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.' Melody thinks that even if things go wrong, they will be right in the end, and she lives by that.
Melody is naive. She's innocent. She's not exactly the most streetsmart of people. Everything about Melody is naive. She doesn't even begin to understand how anyone could be mean to others, which is part of why it upsets her so much. She's lived a sheltered life, and her mother was always trying to protect her from the harsh realities of the world. Now that they can't be there for her at all times, Melody is flailing in the big wide world. She still expects every tale to have a happy ending. This whole thing where there's cruelty in the world confuses her to no end. She simply doesn't understand it.
She's no Van Gogh, but Melody is an artist. She likes to draw and paint, and she is fairly good at it. However, her true forte is music. Melody is a fairly good singer, but her passion is the piano. Melody has been playing it since she was very young, though she has never really been able to have lessons over an extended period of time. She's not an amazing piano player, but Melody loves it. She loves artistic things in general. Drawing, painting, singing, music and simply things like that. Melody likes art.[/ul][/blockquote]
DEAR MOM AND DAD, I‘LL SEND MONEY
I‘M SO RICH THAT IT AIN‘T FUNNY
Elanor Amusio, 45, waitress
father: Genesis, MIA
siblings: Ceol Amusio - 14
others: none
hometown: Mako, North Carolina
history: Elanor Amusio was a young woman, fresh out of high school and ready to fall in love. And fall she did. Genesis Rhapsodos swept her off her feet and Elanor was in love. She put off going to college for him, wanting to spend her life with him. The way she saw it, there was no rush to get into college. Her life with him was perfect. When Elanor learned she was pregnant, her parents disowned her. But that didn't bother her. Genesis was all that she needed. So when little Melody Rhapsody was born, Ella was the happiest she'd ever been. She had Genesis and she had her baby girl, and life was perfect. Melody even has some hazy memories of those days.
Two years after Melody was born, another little boy was borne into the world from the union of Genesis and Ella. Ceol Amusio, Melody's darling little brother, was doted upon by all of the members of their little family. They were happy. Melody has even more memories of this time, of Ceol playing and of a musical voice that told her that she was amazing.
When Melody was six, Genesis was deployed. He wrote letters, at first. And then he vanished. The letters stopped. Genesis was declared Missing In Action and Ella was forced to move on. Well, in a sense. Ella never really recovered. She never dated anyone. Oh sure, she made friends. There were guys that had crushes on this woman, but she poured all of her attention into her daughter. They never had much money, but Ella did her best to do right by her daughter.
Though Melody lacked for other things in life, she never lacked for love and attention. Ella did her best to shelter her daughter from the cruelties of the world, and in general, she succeeded. Melody went to the best school that she could, and she was, in truth, happy. Her dreams were haunted by half-forgotten memories of a man with red hair, but Melody learned swiftly not to ask her mother about him. Ella never talked about Genesis if she could help it, so Melody learned to ask about other things.
From a young age, Melody displayed magical talent. She was especially talented with spells, particularly spellsongs. They were Melody's area of expertise. She could weave a spell from a song and when she failed with simple spoken spells, Melody could often succeed with a song. She inherited her magical talents from her mother, though the more musical attributes seemed to have come from her father. But Ella trained her daughter anyways, and Melody honed her magical abilities. She was grew adept in them swiftly, though nonverbal spells proved to be especially hard for her.
When Melody was ten, she was walking home from her friend's house. Her mother was working late that night, and she was wandering past a park when something attacked her. It was clearly an animal of some sort, its claws leaving permanent marks on the young girls body. Its teeth left significantly less obvious markings, but after Melody was rushed to the hospital by someone who passed by her form, sprawled in the sidewalk and obviously injured, though her wounds were treated and she was given a good prognosis, Melody was changed. Every full moon after that revealed a completely different side to the gentle girl. There was a vicious, monstrous creature that haunted the night and there was even a hint of savagery in the way that she dealt with every day things. Before the attack, nothing had really ever made Melody angry. Afterwards, things died. And she revealed that she did actually have a lot of bite behind that kindness.
When the letter arrived from SOHT, Ella wasn't particularly surprised. She sent her daughter to the prestigious school with a loving smile and a hug, and there, Melody found a place where she well and truly belonged.[/ul][/blockquote]
