appearance: The most obvious thing about Yuffie is her petite size. She's short. Her frame is also very petite. Yuffie isn't particularly curvy and she's far from bulky. Yuffie is certainly rather skinny, perhaps closer to an unhealthy size than anything else. Her hair is black, and Yuffie keeps it cropped short, usually only letting it reach her chin. She typically wears a white headband. Her eyes are an average enough shade of brown. Yuffie's skin is fair, though it typically darkens sharply over the summer, when Yuffie spends a lot of time outside. Not much stands out about Yuffie other than her size. Well, and her choice of clothing. Yuffie hates to wear long pants, so she will almost always wear shorts, even in the dead of winter. She doesn't much like long sleeves either and will generally wear tanktops or t-shirts. Of course, this means that Yuffie doesn't like to go outside much in the winter, as it does get quite chilly.[/ul][/size][/blockquote]

personality: Yuffie is a cocky young woman. She has completely and utter faith in her abilities, and has no room for doubt in her mind. Other people might doubt her abilities, but Yuffie certainly doesn't. She's more than simply confident. Yuffie takes confidence to a whole new level. There's never any doubt about Yuffie's abilities in her mind, no matter who or what she's facing. Yuffie has faith in herself. This can certainly be a good thing, but more often than not, it serves as a rather annoying attribute, as Yuffie isn't exactly subtle about her cockiness. She will often give herself nicknames, such as the "Great Ninja Yuffie" that reveal her cockiness very obviously.
There's not much about Yuffie that's particularly feminine in the least. Yuffie doesn't wear makeup, wear dresses or partake in many of the rites and rituals that are what society deems as 'feminine.' This has lead to many clashes with her father, but Yuffie isn't too bothered by that. She tends to stick with the things that she's comfortable with, and that is mostly just her tomboy-ish attitudes. Yuffie isn't comfortable in things or even simply doing things that are stereotypically feminine. She tends to prefer things that are categorized as masculine, and she really couldn't care less.
Bold and brash, Yuffie isn't particularly subtle. In fact, nothing about Yuffie is subtle. If she wants to say something, she will. And she usually won't coat it in niceties. One can always trust that Yuffie won't lie to them, however. Her actions are typically made without heed for the consequences. Yuffie makes most of her decisions on the spur of the moment. She does things without thought for what might happen later. If it seems fun, Yuffie will almost certainly do it, without thought for the future. Yuffie doesn't think things through particularly well. She doesn't really think about why her bold mannerisms might not be the greatest way to go about life.
She has an aggressive streak perhaps half a mile wide. Yuffie doesn't believe in settling things with talking. She tends to be more violent than passive. However, Yuffie isn't inclined towards needless violence. She will normally only strike if she is struck first. Still, Yuffie is far from passive. Violence will only be met by violence on Yuffie's part, though she's not exactly violent. Just . . . aggressive.
Being rather impulsive and energetic, it's hard for Yuffie to stay still or pay attention to one thing for long. If it seems fun or interesting, Yuffie will do it. Yuffie always has to be doing something with her hands to keep herself focused on one thing for any long time. This is why she tends to badly on classes that aren't based on physical actions. She does tend to excel in her warrior classes that involve fighting. But everything else doesn't really work out for her. Yuffie makes most of her decisions on the spur of the moment, as mentioned earlier, and this tends to have many repercussions later on. However, Yuffie truly couldn't care less about the future. She lives in the present, and Yuffie has to be entertained right then.
Yuffie is a rebel. If you tell her not to do something, she will. If you tell her to do something, she won't. This makes her fairly easy to manipulate, though Yuffie can usually tell when she is being manipulated, as she is fairly clever herself. However, due to her rebellious nature, she also likes to cause trouble. Yuffie is very mischievous. She loves to break rules as much as she can and causes as much trouble as humanly possible. This usually means that when Yuffie is quiet, she's plotting trouble, and those around her should be afraid. Yuffie tends to be a bit of a prankster as well, and causes as much trouble as she can whenever she gits the chance. She's not above hurting a people, but she doesn't ever set out with the intention of hurting others when Yuffie plans a prank.
When faced with people of either gender that Yuffie thinks is attractive, she will flirt. However, Yuffie's not particularly interested in relationships. She's simply a flirt. There is nothing more than that. Yuffie likes to flirt. It's a fun game to her. Relationships are something entirely else, and Yuffie tends to shy away from them violently. Yuffie would rather have a bit of fun than commit to anyone or anything.
Yuffie is a collector. If it's shiny, interesting or odd in any way, Yuffie will snatch it. However, it will usually reappear in a few days, when Yuffie grows bored of it. She doesn't tend to keep a hold of things for long, mostly because she would rather not be arrested because of her wandering eye or anything along those lines. For the most part, Yuffie has kept out of trouble, as she typically returns things before others notice them missing. However, she has gotten in trouble more than once when she has been caught with a stolen item. This tends to ensure that teachers and students alike keep a sharp eye on Yuffie to make sure she won't wander off with a bauble or trinket of theirs.[/ul][/size][/blockquote]

history: Yuffie was born to a happy and loving couple. Godo Kisaragi was the mayor of a small town in Louisiana, and Kasumi was his devoted and loyal wife. Yuffie never lacked for anything as a child. However, even as a baby, she was wild and energetic. She was more than a handful for her parents to deal with. In fact, Yuffie was impossible. Often, Yuffie ended up being shunted from baby sitter to babysitter simply because no one wanted to deal with the wild child more than once. Kasumi and Godo would often come home from some official function or another and find a babysitter missing a few important things saying that they would really rather not take that job again, much to Godo's irritation.
From a young age, Godo tried to push Yuffie into more feminine roles. And Yuffie pushed back just as fiercely. She had a rebellious streak even as a very young child, and she wasn't going to let her father mold her into something that he wanted her to be simply due to a desire to be contrary. Much to her father's disgust, Yuffie was stubbornly a tomboy from a young age. She ran around with the boys of her neighborhood, getting as dirty as any of them and utterly refusing the skirts and dresses that Godo attempted to convince her to wear. Instead, Yuffie did exactly what she wanted. That dress her father wanted her to wear on her first day of school? Well, Yuffie threw a tantrum until he finally relented and allowed her to wear a simple pair of shorts and a t-shirt.
However, when Yuffie was about six years old, everything changed. Kasumi was in a car accident, and despite the best efforts of the doctors at the hospital, Kasumi died within days. Everything fell apart. Godo was lost without his wife, and made some decisions that forever changed the small beach town. He allowed large hotels to build there, and the peaceful place changed from the town that Yuffie had known and loved to a massive, sprawling tourist attraction. The locals thought it was great! Now they had customers, and many of the businesses were suddenly much richer than they had been before. Godo was re-elected time and time again, and Wutai continued to do well. But Yuffie hated every moment of it. She wanted nothing more than to return it to its previous state. But the change was already permanent, and despite Yuffie's best efforts, the city remained exactly the same.
Yuffie was miserable during the last few years that she spent there. However, she was given a ticked out by way of a letter from SOHT. Yuffie leaped at the chance, and her father sent her to the school with delight. He was proud of his daughter for making it into such a school, but Godo's last words of advice were that his daughter ought to become more ladylike. She spent her first year doing anything but that, refusing completely to wear anything but men's clothing and generally just being a pain in the behind for everyone. At first, she was just an Earth Sciences major. However, when her teachers noticed that she was failing almost every class, a more physically involved major was suggested, and about halfway through Yuffie's first year, she switched to a Warrior-Earth Science major. Her grades went up sharply, though they were far from stellar.
Her second year passed in much the same manner. Her grades were okay, but not stellar, though Yuffie struggled a lot. She wanted nothing more than to succeed to bring some glory to her hometown, which had become, in her eyes, nothing more than a sham. So though Yuffie was far from the top of the class, she did her best to succeed.[/ul][/size][/blockquote]
