SOHT and Ignis Town are located just south of Cody, Wyoming, but just north of Boysen. It is located in an area with diverse habitats. To the east of the school and town is valleys, and eventually, canyons. Then to the west is a thick conifer forest and mountains. To the North West by about a days drive is Yellowstone national park. About six hours north east is the tourist town of Cody.
Just south of the school by about a mile is a river. This river has many streams that go around the school, and in the center of the town is a small pond called Burning Pond, due to it being constantly warmed like a hotspring. Then, in the camping area is a large Lake called Phoenix Lake.
