Alright, So here is a fun challenge!!! It’s easy, so don’t fret too much! All you have to do is write a “scene” of one of your characters asking someone (can be someone elses character or a Non-played Character) to the Ball! You are allowed to “play” the character that yours is asking to the ball, but only for this event. This is a OOC contest, but if you and the player of the other character like your post, you can say it happened IC too. If a post is deemed as inappropriate, or really just “butchers” the other person’s character, you will be asked to rewrite it. The “scene” must be at least 200 words long, and will be graded by Matsi and a non-SOHT person. Points will be… - 10 points for Creativity
- 5 for AWW factor
- 3 for length
- 2 for spelling/Punctuation.
Then there will be 5 extra credit points for Visuals. There will be two winners. First place will get a Warhound Puppy and 200 on-site bucks. Second place will get a warhound puppy! Entries will close June 1st, and a winner will be chosen the 2nd or 3rd. ((Matsi may submit on just for kicks and giggles, but hers will not be "valid" for the contest))

I can't wait till tomorrow, This feeling has swallowed me whole, And know that I've lost control, This heart that I've followed, Has left me so hollow, That was then, this is now, yeah you have changed everything.
For Vincent Valentine, the chapter started with breakfast.
Everything interesting started with breakfast. But for Vincent it was even more interesting in that he had made a friend with breakfast. And then it had snowballed from there. It had been a comfortable friendship at first, one that involved laughing about Yuffie’s antics and chattering amiably about whatever was on their minds on that day. But somewhere along the line, Vincent’s feelings had started . . . changing. They had matured. They had become more and more like his feelings for Lucrecia. Vincent wasn’t sure it was possible to be more different from Lucrecia. But that didn’t stop his emotions from doing what they did. Vincent didn’t particularly appreciate it though!
Snorting, the young man rolled his eyes. This was no time to wimp out. So he raised his hand smoothly and knocked lightly on the door of Alicia’s dorm room. She would be in there, as it was right before dinner time and, well, that was Vincent’s plan.
“Hey Vinny!” Alicia spoke cheerfully as she pulled the door open to let him in. She had mostly gotten over freaking out every time that he showed up. Of course, she wasn’t over her crush on him. Not by a long shot. But now that she got to spend more time with him on a regular basis, Alicia was mostly done spazzing out like crazy every time that she got to talk to him.
Snorting, Vincent chose to the ignore the nickname. “Are you doing anything right now?” Vincent questioned smoothly, his voice carrying little inflection as he glanced at Alicia, leaning lazily against the wall.
Alicia considered for a moment. In truth, she sort of was. But the project that she was doing could definitely be put off for Vincent. At least for a bit, anyways. “Nope! Why?” Alicia was rather excited, to say the least. Her heart was starting to pick up its pace, beginning to race in her chest as she waited for his response.
“Let’s get dinner.” Vincent said in answer, shifting his weight slightly as he waited for a response from her.
Alicia grinned at Vincent. “Sure! Where are we goin’?” She questioned curiously, glancing at him cautiously.
Vincent shrugged slightly. “Nowhere special.” He muttered absently. “But we need to be there soon.” He added a moment later, glancing at Alicia. He had made reservations for a table not that long ago, and they would need to be there soon. It wasn’t particularly fancy (there wasn’t much in the way of fancy restaurants in Ignis town), but it was pretty nice, all things considered. And Vincent was eager to eat.
About an hour later, the duo had already finished eating. Now, Vincent was finally going to do it. He was going to ask her. It was ridiculous to be so nervous about something like this. Vincent Valentine didn’t get nervous. But today he was. He was putting his heart on the line for the first girl since Lucrecia, and that did make him nervous.
“You okay, Vinny?” Alicia asked softly. Something seemed up with him. He was even quieter than usual, and that was saying something. He had said maybe five words the entire meal, and it almost made her feel like he didn’t want to spend time with her. But that was ridiculous because he had invited her out there! So why was he acting so oddly?
Vincent glanced up sharply, “Hmm? Oh yeah, I’m fine.” He hesitated, took a deep breath, and then continued, “Anyways, I have a question.” It was more than he’d said all dinner.
Alicia took a moment to answer him. Instead, she listened to the distant strains of music that danced through the air. “Everytime I see your face, my heart takes off on a high speed chase, now don't be scared, it's only love, baby, that we're falling in.” It fit her so very well in that moment. Spending time with Vincent made her heart thud wildly in her chest, especially right then. He looked almost . . . nervous. It was hard to tell from his features, but Alicia felt like she knew him well enough to know when he was feeling nervous. “What’s up, Vince?” She had a pretty much inexhaustible supply of nicknames for him, most gleaned from Yuffie’s antics.
Vincent took a deep breath, “Alicia. Will you go to the dance with me?” He had waited until the end of dinner to ask her if she would go to the dance with him so that if she turned him down, it wouldn’t be too awkward.
And then he waited.
It took Alicia a moment to answer him. Mostly, she was in shock. He was asking her to go to the dance. HE WAS ASKING HER TO GO TO THE DANCE. What was she doing?!? “Of course!” Alicia had to restrain herself so that she wouldn’t sound insanely excited about this. But inside she was practically screaming. Her heart had started pounding in reaction to the excitement that blazed in her mind.
Vincent relaxed visibly, closing his eyes and sighing in relief. It felt so good to get that off his chest AND SHE HAD SAID YES. Though his external features didn’t change, Vincent was excited about this. He was happy. Finally, things were starting to fall into place at this strange school. “So, it’s a date?” He asked smoothly, just the slightest of smiles appearing on his features.
“It’s a date!”
For Vincent Valentine, the chapter ended with dinner.
Every time I see your face, My heart takes off on a high speed chase, Now don't be scared, it's only love, That we're falling in, I would never do you wrong, Or let you down or lead you on. ooc: there maaaaay be a picture later. and I'll probably have to edit this later since I did write it at one in the morning. but I wanted to get something up for this!
